Hello Everyone. Please be advised that our training for this competition starts on the 15th March 2015 at the Top Gymnasium, Hadley Stadium B66 4NL, from 13:00 to 16:00.  Kindly let me know by FB, email, text or phone if you are joining.  If you are participating please try to come to all the training as we have just one and one-half months of training.  The competition pack has been posted on our FB page however if you wish to have a copy kindly inform me through our email kda_uk@yahoo.com or hd_perez@yahoo.com.  Parking at the University will be opened early for those travelling on that day.  If you have problems entering please call Sensei Erica Francoise on 07834024166.  She will be at the venue early.  This will be our biggest international tournament for the year so please join and support the team.

Congratulations to the KDA-UK karate team for an outstanding performance in the recently concluded EKO Karate Championships.  We were able to garner 5 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze trophies and medals as our official standing but our actual haul was 23 trophies and medals in all.  Well done team.  The winners are as follows:

EKO Karate Championships, ISKF-UK seminar and grading, ESKF European Champiosnhips

Hello everyone. We will be participating in the EKO Karate Championships on the 7th of March 2015 at the Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre, Kingsheath Birmingham B14 6ER. Our training will start on the 18th January 2015 at the Top Gymnasium, Hadley Stadium in Bearwood B66 4NL, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please inform me ASAP if you are joining so I could form the teams as we have only 7 training days. This will be our warm-up before the ESKF European championships in London on the 3rd May 2015 (still to be confirmed, details to follow). Those of you taking their ISKF grading in May this year will start their preparations in March after the EKO competition. Sensei Yutaka Yaguchi will be conducting the 2015 ISKFseminar and examinations at the Sobell Leisure Centre, Islington, London in May (details to follow). See you in training!

Congratulations to team KDA-UK for a brilliant performance at the GB Open Karate Championships at the North Solihull Sports Centre, Birmingham.  The team finished with 8 Golds, 2 Silvers and 5 Bronzes.  Rogel Sahagun and Maria Isabella Esguerra also won two special awards, Best Junior Male and Female Karateka of the day.  Well done team!

GB OPEN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014

Greetings to all parents and students.  This is just a reminder that the GB Open Karate Championships is on the 12th October 2014 and the venue is the North Solihull Sports Centre, Conway Road, Chelmsley Wood, Solihull, Birmingham B37 5LA.  Doors will open at 09:15 and competitor registration until 09:50.  There will be a referee/officials and coaches meeting at 09:45.  Competition will commence at 10:00 prompt.  Please be early, about 08:30 the latest, as there are limited parking spaces available.  There is a spectator fee of £5 per person.

All individual Peewee and Junior events (9 years old and under) to be completed first for kata and kumite.  This will be followed by all kata events of the remaining categories and kumite events in the afternoon.

Our last training day for competition is on the 5th October 2014 so please be in attendance.  Girls are required to wear body armour/chest protector and boys are required groin guards during kumite events.  Kindly check your equipment and pack them all in one bag.

Hello to all. This is just a reminder that the GB Open Karate Championships is on the 12th October 2014 at the North Solihull Leisure Centre, Birmingham. Training has been ongoing since the start of August 2014. Team members are required to attend training and if possible not be absent until competition day. This will probably be the last tournament we will have for the year so let us all do our best. For those of you catching up on training, schedule is Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Top Gymnasium, Hadley Stadium. See you in training.





New West Bromwich Leisure Centre
